History: Although not a traditional Sox team color, the South Side's team wore a couple of different kelly green jackets in the 1930s as a tribute to founder Charles Comiskey's Irish heritage. Comiskey died in 1931 and control of the team passed to his son Louis. The 1930s were lean times for the Sox, but shortstop Luke Appling and left fielder Bob "Fats" Fothergill were offensive standouts.
